The town of
Franklin offers a number of fine inns and comfortable motels. If you'd
like to get a sense of what it would be like to live at Red Oak, stay at the
Snow Hill Inn,
an outstanding B&B just a mile from our entrance.
This area is
so beautiful, once you see it, you will never want to leave. Here are a
couple of quotes that hint at what you'll find.
No other forest in the southern half of the Appalachian ridge system
can match the Nantahala National Forest's stark contrast between white-water
madness and backwoods solitude. Equal parts intensity and serenity, this
primeval forest is hidden away in the Blue Ridge and Nantahala Mountains and
simply has no peer in the Southeast.

If you are an angler or just a lover of the outdoors, you will
absolutely love the Little Tennessee River between Franklin and its
confluence with Lake Fontana. If God made a more beautiful section of
mountain river, I have yet to see it.
